A little bit of Glitz

What a beautiful day we have had today lovely sunlight with a slight breeze just wonderful.

I have been playing around with a sketch I saw on the Clean and Simple web site – click here to have a look.

Unfortunately the link closed before I could link my card but when I saw the sketch I just knew I wanted to use the Medallion background stamp as the larger image on the card.

I used the Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the Medallion image for a little extra ‘bling’ but I also used a Rhinestone on the butterfly!

I thought the sentiment from the Elements of Style stamp set was a nice addition and I layered this on some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon.

I used one of the Tags from the Lots of Tags Sizzlits Die Set and punched them out on Very Vanilla and Pretty in Pink cardstock.

The Very Vanilla tag has been trimmed so you get see the edge of the Pretty in Pink cardstock underneath.

I like the card, at first I thought it was too dark but the card is growing on me.

I used the colours and some of the DSP from Elegant Soiree DSP.  This would have to be my favourite DSP at the moment.

The papers are lovely and the colours go so well together: – Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Basic Grey.

I have used Soft Suede for the base of my card with some stamped images from the Vintage Vogue stamp set.

Hummingbird - Sketch Frenzy Friday

Back again, with this card I created using the lovely Elements of Style stamp set.

This sketch challenge was from Sketch Frenzy Friday # SFF022511 and the layout is below or you can click here to visit their site.

I decided to just use the flower image from the Elements of Style stamp set and I stamped the image over the base card which is Crumb Cake cardstock.

I then stamped the flower image on Cajun Craze and for the next two squares I have lined up the flowers from the Cajun Craze image.

Sketch Challenge

I have been browsing and found a few sketch and colour challenge websites/blogs.

One of the sites is Karin Giron’s Blog called The Sweetest Thing and each Sunday a new sketch challenge is posted.

Another web site called Skipping Stone Design, post challenges weekly on a Tuesday.

Last week Skipping Stone Design worked with The Sweetest Thing’s Sweet Sunday Sketch #73 and you could either create a card using the sketch or make a ‘pink’ themed card for Breast Cancer Awareness week.

I like the layout and I like the ‘pink’ theme so below is the card that I had fun creating.

Newsprint DSP with a touch of love…

One of the new Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the new catalogue is the called Newsprint and there are many ways this paper could be used for cards or scrapbooking.

The DSP is printed on a Very Vanilla base with Basic Black print and can be seen on page 127 of the current catalogue.

I created the two cards below and using images from Artistic Etchings, Elements of Style & Occasional Quotes stamp sets.

newsprint double

The first card I created used the new cherry cobbler – isn’t it a wonderful rich colour.  I also used the saying from the Elements of Style stamp set.
