For the Guys

Hi everyone,

I have had a great time making this card.  There are so many challenges out there at the moment to create a male card, which is a challenge in itself and something that I do not do often except for Father’s Day or Dad’s Birthday.

I really only have one male stamp and it is the retired SU Motorcycle image and that is because my Dad loves bikes.

So with this one stamp I was on the hunt for different colour schemes and a sketch to fit my look.

The sketch is from Seems a Little Sketchy.

I found my colour inspirations in the Spice Cake DSP which is the current Summer Mini and I have used Soft Suede, More Mustard, River Rock and Very Vanilla.

I stamped the bike in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla cardstock and I then used the stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the image again with Versamark so that I could emboss with clear embossing powder.

I used a dauber to sponge some More Mustard Ink around the edges of the Very Vanilla card stock and then used the Colour Spritzer Tool to create Soft Suede ink spots on the cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Perfect Words Hostess stamp set which is stamped on Very Vanilla Card stock in Soft Suede and punched out using the Modern Label punch.  I then trimmed the ends and sponged some More Mustard ink on the edges.  I layered the Very Vanilla sentiment on a punched out Modern Label which is in More Mustard cardstock.

The River Rock strip was ripped and added a much loved and often forgotten Vintage Brad to finish off.

Birthday wishes

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post to share a card that I have recently created.

I have gone with lots of  layers and I used the Stripes Textured Impressions and Elegant Lines Embossing Folder.  The Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die is still a favourite and they have been decorated with a little bling.

The stamp is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess Set.

Butterflies once more…

Hi everyone,

Hope that your week has been good, my weekend has come early no work tomorrow having a day off – yeah!

I do have a card to share with you ……

I have used the current sketch at Fetch A Sketch for the layout and once more there are butterflies appearing :)

The layers of butterflies have been created using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.  Love this die as it is so easy to create the butterflies.

The butterflies are embossed and cut when you put the die through the Big Shot.  The extra butterflies that are not used each time I place in a container for later use and they always come in handy to add that little bit extra.

My colours this time are Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride with Very Vanilla.  I have stamped the swirl from the Creative Elements stamp set and the sentiment is from the My Friend stamp set.

Everyday Enchantment

Hi everyone,

I really love the Everyday Enchantment DSP which is available as part of Sale-a-bration.

So I have created a card with a sample of the DSP, images from the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set and a sample of the Everyday Enchantment Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon.

I am sure you now get the link with title of this posting :)

I would describe my card as having a spring feel, being soft flowing and it has been touched with my vintage attempt.  I am happy with it, have a look below:

IMG_2066_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Elementary Elegance Stamp Set

Card: Peach Parfait, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Peach Parfait

Accessories:  1/8” (3.2 mm) Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon, Beautiful Winds Embosslits Dies, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I have used a dauber and sponged some of the Peach Parfait ink on to the Peach Parfait cardstock after I sanded it back in a few different places.  I have also used the dauber with the Peach Parfait ink on the Very Vanilla card stock.

I am still hooked on the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Dies.  The larger butterfly is in Lucky Limeade card stock (even though the photo has it looking a little darker) and the small butterfly is in Very Vanilla cardstock.

Oh and don’t forget the added ‘bling’ in the corner and on the butterfly!  I added a little of the Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon to a dimensional at the back of the larger butterfly because I wanted it to seem like he was fluttering here and there :)

Special Easel Card

Hi everyone,

I found a tutorial for an Easel Card with a Twist and I have finally created one.

I have used Regal Rose for base of the card and once more I have used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.

I added a little sample of the Cheerful Treat DSP and found in my stash the lovely forgotten Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon to create the bow.

The sentiment is from Field Flowers stamp set and the Elegant Lines Textured Impression Folder makes a great background on the Very Vanilla cardstock.

Going Green

Hi everyone,

It’s St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday and nearly everyone is going green so I have joined in.

I have used one of my favourite greens – Old Olive, for the base of my card with a small amount of the DSP Paisley Petals.

I have tried to stay as green as possible but there is a little hint of colour in the DSP and I have stamped the Hello Blossoms stamp in Early Espresso and punched out the letters.  The word ‘hello’ has been added to the Always Artichoke image with Dimensionals.

For a contrast colour I have used River Rock other than that I am pretty green.

Supplies:

Stamp set: Hello Blossoms

Card: Old Olive, River Rock, Whisper White
Ink: Always Artichoke, Early Espresso

Accessories:  Oval Punch (Retired), Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, 5/8” (1.6 cm) Organza Ribbon Whisper White, Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Paisley Petals DSP, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

Hello Hello Hello

And Hello once more :)

All the greetings are because I used the ‘hello, hello, hello’ sentiment stamp from the Happy Greetings stamp set in the Summer Mini Catalogue.

The card base is Basic Gray which has been dry embossed using the Big Shot and the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This is a great folder and just adds that little bit to the background.

The colours are from the colour challenge at The Play Date Cafe – Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Whisper White as the neutral.

The layout is from the sketch at Create with Connie & Mary which you can see here.  I have flipped the sketch around and used the wonderful Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die to create the butterflies.  This Die is one of my favourites at the moment (of course don’t forget the ‘bling’) as I love how the butterflies are embossed and cut at the same time when the folder goes through the Big Shot.

Spring Butterflies

Hi everyone, hope that you weekend has been good.  It is always too short :)

Here is the card that I created with the sketch at Stampin Queen Sketches.  When I saw this sketch I immediately wanted to create some butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.  And I think my card is creates a Spring feel with its soft flowing colours.

Blushing Bride has been used for the base of the card and I have embossed the very vanilla layer with Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and says :

“Hope your day is as happy as happy gets!”

Stamp set: Flight of the Butterfly

Card: Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip

Hello card

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share with you a card I created using the Elementary Elegance Stamp set and the Everyday Enchantment DSP that is available during Sale-A-Bration.

I was looking at the colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts - Lucky Limeade, Always Artichoke and a colour of your choice?  Hmm interesting don’t you think?  What colour would you choose?  I decide on Calypso Coral.

The sketch was inspired by Card Patterns Sketch # 155 and my card has Always Artichoke for the base of the card.  The circles were created with the Circle Scissor Plus in Calypso Coral.

The leaves/bud image is from the Fabulous Florets stamp set which is in the Summer Mini Catalogue and has been stamped with Lucky Limeade ink.

The flowers are from scraps I had from cutting the main DSP and I punched the flowers out using the Boho Blossoms Punch.  The second layer of the flowers has been punched out with the same punch and the card stock is Very Vanilla.

Unfortunately you cannot see in the photo but I have coloured the Rhinestones in with the Lucky Limeade marker and they have a light tint of ink – just to be different but still with ‘bling’ !

Field of Flowers

Hi everyone,

I have been away for a few days celebrating my birthday and I have had a great time which included my my sister flying up for Melbourne to spend the weekend.

I caught up with my friends whom I stamp with on Friday night and had birthday cake and a cup of Tea.  Then last night I had a long talk to my best friend that lives in London.

This is the first chance I have had to do some crafting and I created a card with the Field Flowers stamp set.  It is a lovely 2 step stamp set and I have also used some of the Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon that is  in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

I have taken my colour inspiration from the Play Date Cafe challenge and the sketch inspiration from Moving Along with the Times.  The colours used were Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Lucky Limeade.

Perfect Words

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share a card I recently created with the lovely Paisley Petals DSP.  I really like the bold, bright print on the DSP and there are so many wonderful colours in this DSP.

The colours for my card have been inspired by the colours in the DSP and I have used Not Quite Navy for the base of the card.

A strip of Early Espresso which I have twisted and folded on itself and then I sanded the cardstock to give it a a little bit of a distressed look.

The lovely butterflies have been die cut in River Rock and Bravo Burgundy using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.
