Christmas Teddy Bear

Time to share with you my Christmas card for the Holly Jolly Christmas challenge.  Our theme:

Teddy Bears

We have some great sponsors too, so please come over and join us!

I have used my own image and this was the first stamp that I fell in love with when I started stamping. The stamp is by PSX and product number is K-980.

He is perfect for this challenge and my card is created in a CAS style using SU Shimmer White cardstock and some DSP from my stash.

The end of the DSP has been punched using the Scallop Edge Bunch.

Here is my card:

The little sentiment is from the SU Festival of Trees stamp set and reads “ A Merry Little Wish…” which has been stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.

The circles have been punched using the Owl Builder punch and the heart from a retired little heart punch.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Keep It Simple

Do you like CAS cards or maybe they are a challenge for you and you want to give them a try?  Well either way you will want to join us this week at Crafty Creations as our theme for the next two weeks is:

Keep It Simple

and if you join us you could be in the running to win a prize!  Click here to check out the challenge.

I love the CAS sketches that Clean and Simple provide and I have used them many times before and again today to create my card.

I saw the sketch but was not sure what stamp set(s) I would use.  I recently placed an order from the current Seasonal Catalogue and also got some freebies because of Sale-a-Bration and my order arrived in time to create my card for this challenge.

I have used the sentiment from the Perfect Pennants stamp set from the Seasonal Catalogue.  The banners have been stamped using the Banner Blast set and punched our using the Banner punch which both part of Sale-a-Bration.

The little hearts have been punched out using the Owl Builder punch and I have used the colours, Perfect Plum, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.  The base card is Crumb Cake and the main layer is Very Vanilla.

Here is my card:

Stamping 411 – Technique Thursday

Hi everyone, hope things are well.  The weekend is nearly here and it is hard to believe that February has nearly past us by.

I have completed a card for the Technique Thursday Challenge at Stamping 411.

This is a great technique where you punch out some images and then you use an embossing folder with the Big Shot to emboss the images on to the card stock or DSP.  You can view the full details of this technique at Stamping 411 site.

I have used that wonderful Two step Owl Punch and the Lap of Luxury DSP.  Unfortunately the image is a little dark but Concord Crush card stock has been used for the base of the card.

Pretty In Pink cardstock is the next layer with the embossed DSP.  The owls have been stamped on Very Vanilla with Pretty in Pink ink and the body and eyes coloured in Concord Crush ink.

Supplies:

Stamp set: Whimsical Words, Punch Bunch

Card: Pretty in Pink, Concord Crush, Very Vanilla
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Concord Crush, Basic Grey

Accessories:  Two-Step Owl Extra-Large Punch, Lap of Luxury DSP, Basic Grey Retired Ribbon, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

It is hard to see from the photo but I have embossed the owls 5 times on various parts of the DSP.  Then I punch the owls out and layered them with Dimensionals on 3 of the 5 embossed images.

This is a great little challenge and the end result will impress the person who receives your finished project.

Thanks for stopping by once more.

Keep creating…….. Meg x

Owl Birthday

I recently purchased the Two Step Owl Punch after seeing so may great ideas for use of this punch.

This little punch is great, you can create so many wonderful layers to the owl and don’t forget to use the little hearts that get punched out too.

The very versatile Sale-A-Bration Punch Bunch stamp set was used to create this card.

I am happy with the end result and know exactly who I am going to give the card too.
