Window Card

Hi everyone,

Hope that you are well and that you weekend has been good.

Its time for a new challenge at Come and Get It Challenges and this week it is Window Cards.

So what would you create for this challenge?

For some inspiration pop over and see the rest of the Design Team have created and join us, we would love to see your creations!!

For my card I have created a house window, I was inspired by the tutorial I found here which was created by Kristina Werner.

I have used Pear Pizzazz for the base of my card with Blushing Bride, Perfect Plum and Whisper White cardstock.

The curtains have been created using some of the Nursery Nest DSP and my butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.  Besides ‘bling’ this Die would have to be the next most used item in my stash :)

The sentiment is from Perfects Words Hostess set and I have stamped it on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock in Perfect plum.

The sentiment reads “ Amazing, Awesome, Talented… You”

Here is the front of my card:

P1000231_edited-2

Supplies

Stamp set: Happiest Birthday Wishes, Perfect Words (Hostess)

There is also an some  Pear Pizzazz Stitched-Poly Ribbon down one side of the insert in the inside of the card and some more butterflies.  I added “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Happiest Birthday Wishes set just below the butterflies.

Dad’s Birthday

We have had another really hot day 27 degrees plus with lots of humidity. The cool rain is now falling and you can hear the distant thunder.

I am sure there will be another crazy storm tonight – it is almost like we are in the tropics!

Today has been my Dad’s birthday and I made two cards for him.  One from Charlize (my daughter) and I and the other for Mum to give him.

So I thought I would share the cards with you.

I have used the retired Motorcycle stamp as my Dad loves his Motor Bike and when I saw this stamp I immediately thought of him.

The first card is a classic Black and White combination with a touch of Real Red – red makes you go faster, didn’t you know :)

IMG_1960_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Motorcycle, Happiest Birthday Wishes

Card: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon, Basic Black

Accessories:  1/4” (6.4 mm) Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon,  Basic Rhinestones, SNAIL Adhesive

My second card uses Basic Black and Very Vanilla and I have used the a sample  from the lovely Mocha Morning Speciality Paper.  On this paper the flowers and swirls have black flocking which looks great and feels so soft.

I stamped the ‘just for you’ in Soft Suede and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.

Supplies:

Stamp set: Motorcycle, Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Card: Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink: Stazon, Soft Suede

Accessories:  Mocha Morning Speciality DSP, Corner Punch, Retired Frame, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

Dad loved both cards and he has had a great day.

He went with Mum and had coffee this morning, spent time with his sisters for lunch and then after dinner we had chocolate cake - because you are never to old for birthday cake and candles!

Take care and have fun creating !

Finally another post & challenge

Hi everyone,

I haven’t had a chance to send a post for a while as I have been to the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Melbourne and it was GREAT!

Had a wonderful time, met so many crafty people, exchanged ideas and it was so worth travelling to Melbourne and experiencing the cold and wet but I must say I also got to see my Sister and her family which was an added bonus :)

As you know, you then come back home you get back into routines work, school, life in general but along the way unfortunately pick up a cold.

So I was not feeling the best over the weekend but I am much better now and back on board.

Now on to my card creation…..

I have used the colour challenge from Just Add Ink and the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary:

Summer11Challenges-003

I have used Baja Breeze for the base of my card and I have created a card for Child’s Birthday.  It is my youngest niece’s birthday next month so I think I will give this card to her.

I have used the Fox & Friends, Party This Way & On Your Birthday stamp sets as well as some of the texture embossing folders in the Big Shot.

 IMG_1795_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Fox & Friends, Party This Way, On Your Birthday

Card: Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Ink: Certainly Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum

Accessories:  Textured Square Lattice & Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folders, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Word Window Punch, 1” (2.5 cm) Circle Medium Punch, 1-3/8” (3.5 cm) Circle Large Punch, 3/8” (1 cm) Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, 1/2” (1.3 cm) Pear Pizzazz Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Mat Pack for Paper Piercing, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

This was an unusual sketch but this is why you call them challenges!

In the end I think both the sketch and the colours have worked well together and I am sure my niece will enjoy this card for her 4th Birthday.

Until next time…. Meg x

A simple layout and I have used Baja Breeze as the base card with part of the Top Note Die.

Friends Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 107

I am back again…. with a card I created for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge # 107.

You can see the sketch here or visit the Sweetest Thing Blog if you click here.

I must admit I struggled with this sketch a bit.  I had some ideas but they did not seem to work and the end result is different than I imaged.

But as you will know sometimes you just have to draw a line in the sand and go with the flow, after all we are our own worst critics.

I have used Chocolate Chip as the base card and the squares have been created from the Greenhouse Gala DSP.

I have also used a small amount of Hemp Twine and placed a small flower button from the Bitty Buttons in the Summer Mini Catalogue.

I have stamped the Friends saying and flower in Chocolate Chip and then again in Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight.  I cut the various part of the flower out and layered them.

I think I will create another card with this sketch to see what else I can come up with.

Until next time keep creating and keep smiling it’s the weekend!

Stamping 411 Saturday Challenge

I have completed a card for the Stamping 411 Challenge SSC191 but unfortunately I missed out posting it to the blog.  You can see the sketch if you click here.

My card uses the Sunny Garden DSP as the background and I have continued to use the bright colours from this paper when I stamped the images for the card.

The stamp set is For You Flower, this is a great single stamp and can be used in so many ways.
