Fantastic Challenges

Hi, how was your weekend?  Too short ?  I agree !

Just wanted to share with you a card I created with a couple of different challenges in mind:

1. Color Throwdown Challenge # 189 – An interesting mix of colours,  Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, So Saffron, Pool Party and Calypso Coral – you can visit the site here. Yes definitely a challenge.

2. Pixie Cottage Challenge # 118 – Use the Sketch to make a card for Mum or a special Lady, have a look here.  I love layers so this definitely appealed to me and I can never have enough cards to give my Mum.

3. The Paper Players Challenge # 93 – Tic Tac Toe, you have a look at the challenge here.  I have used Designer Paper, Flowers and My Choice which is ‘bling’.  Love my ‘bling’!

I decided to use Night of Navy for the base of the card, some DSP from the Timeless Portrait pack and First Edition Specialty Paper. I added a little Calypso Coral ink to the First Edition DSP with a dauber.

The image is from the Fabulous Florets stamp set and the sentiment is from the Perfect Words stamp set.  The ribbon was a last minute addition but I am happy with it.

Here is my card…..

Flowers and Butterflies

Hi everyone, just one more day to the weekend – Yah!

Just wanted to share with you a card I created with the following three challenges in mind:

  1. Paper Players Sketch challenge – #92 Sketch
  2. Simply Stampin Challenges – Colour - Pink Pirouette, Marina Mist, Soft Suede & Very Vanilla
  3. Sweet Stampin Challenges – Use more than 1 Ribbon

I have used Soft Suede for the base of my card with a layer of Marina Mist. The images and sentiment come from the Field Flowers stamp set.

I have not added ‘bling’ … but I have added some Pearls and they have been placed on the butterflies which have been embossed and cut using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die in the Big Shot.

As this stamp set is a two step stamping set I have used some Regal Rose to create the darker layer on my flowers but otherwise I have used only the colours in the challenge.

I have also changed the sketch a little but it is pretty close to the original layout.

Here is my card:

Vintage Butterflies

Hi everyone,

Over the past few weeks there have been a number of challenges themed ‘fancy folds’ so I wanted to share with you a card I have made using the Joy Fold.

I used Pretty in Pink and Soft Suede card stock and some of the DSP from the Beau Chateau pack.  The stamp set used is the Creative Elements stamp set.

I love this very girly, soft and very versatile set, everything goes really co-ordinates so well.

I love my bling but I am also very fond of butterflies, to me I see their freedom, beauty and their daintiness.

The sentiment used is very wise - “Treat yourself like your own best company”, how true.  I am happy that I had another go at the vintage look and I have daubered a little of soft suede ink on the butterflies and the “create” words on the inside of the card.

I have also stamped the swirls/flourish image in Pretty in Pink ink on the Pretty in Pink card stock so you can faintly see it in the back ground.

Here is a few different views of my card:

Cherish

Hi everyone,

There are a couple of wedding/anniversary challenges around at the moment and I have combined them with the colour challenge from CCEE Stampers – Black, White and Pink.

A lot of people now use black and white with a touch of colour for their wedding cards.  I completed some wedding invitations for some good friends and one had black and white with red like her wedding dress.

The other was white and black, so the details for my wedding card with Black, White and Pink……

I have used the retired For the Bride stamp set, I really love this set and is a great to use for wedding invitations or cards.

I have added a small strip of the Pretty in Pink card stock to the cake image and punched out a small heart from the Owl Builder punch for the top of the cake.  The flower is from the Boho Blossoms punch and both the heart and the flower have dimensionals attached to them to give them a bit of depth.

The word is from the Baroque Motifs stamp set and it has been punched out using the Modern Label Punch.   I have also punched out a strip of Pretty in Pink card stock with the Lace Ribbon Border.

Here is my card:

Card: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black

Accessories:  Boho Blossoms Punch, Owl Builder Punch, Modern Label Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I love how versatile punches are and how you can use them in so many different ways, they have to be one of my best investments.

Layer Punch Flowers

Well I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was busy but us girls - my Mum, my daughter and I had a lovely dinner together on Saturday night :)

Now on to the card I wanted to share with you.

The layout is the Mojo Monday layout # 237 and I have combined it with the colour challenge from Play Date Cafe which is very bright Orange and Pink with White.

I used the Triple Layer Punch and I punched out 4 flowers in Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo.

I used the outline of the Melon Mambo flowers and attached them to a Whisper White  strip of card stock.  I added dimensionals to the back of the Tangerine Tango punched flower and lined it up the Melon Mambo outline with some ‘bling’ to the centre of the punched flower.

The base card of Tangerine Tango was embossed with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and I swiped the Tangerine Tango ink pad across the card stock.

I daubered a light touch of Tangerine Tango ink to the edge of the Whisper White strip but I wanted to add a little bit more.  So with a scrap of Melon Mambo card stock I punched out a border with the Lace Ribbon Border punch.  I cut the border in half and daubered some Whisper White craft ink on the Melon Mambo border to soften the colour a little.

The sentiment “Cherish” is from the Baroque Motifs stamp set and has been punched out with the Modern Label punch.

Here is my card:

Ink: Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo, Whisper White Craft Ink

This is different to my normal cards but I just gave it a try to see what I would get – as a number of my other stamping buddies say “it’s only cardstock” and you don’t know until you try.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Imagine

Hi everyone – the middle of the week and I hope it is all going well for you :)

Just wanted to share a card with you that I have created.

I found the latest colour challenge at City Crafter Challenges which is to use black/grey and white with a hint of pink.

Now what girl doesn’t love pink and I love the neutral challenges that have just a hint of colour, so I combined the colours with the Clean and Simple sketch #186.

I used the wanted to do something different with the sketch that had circles or something that I could create in a circular shape.  The stamp set that I decided to use was Just Believe, which has been sitting around for a while, so I used the circular flower image and stamped it in Pretty in Pink on Whisper White cardstock.

Now I didn’t want to use all circular shapes on the card but I need something smaller but fitting with the flowers. My answer – the  trusty Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die it  just jumped out at me once more.  So I cut out three small butterflies in Basic Black cardstock.

The sentiment “Imagine the Possibilities” is from the Word Play stamp set and there is always room for ‘bling’ so I dressed up the butterflies :)

All the circle images and butterflies have dimensionals on them just to add a bit of depth.

Here is my card:

Happiness Always

Hi everyone,

Hope that you week has started off well.

I wanted to share a card with you that I created with the photo inspiration from Just Add Ink and the sketch layout from Come and Get It Challenges.

The colours I have used with the photo inspiration in mind are:

Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Whisper White

For the sketch, I created the circle area on the left hand side of the card with the smaller flowers from the Array of Sunshine stamp set and then layered the larger flower in the middle of the circle.

I stamped the larger flower in Pool Party for the first layer.  For the second layer of the flower, I inked the stamp with Pool Party and added a touch of Calypso Coral with markers before I stamped the image. The last layer is in Calypso Coral.

For the oval part of the sketch, I added a layered Calypso Coral butterfly with a smaller butterfly in Whisper White. Both butterflies were created using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die.

The smaller flowers in the right hand top corner were punched out in Pool Party card stock using the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch.

The sentiment is from the Happy Greetings stamp set which is no longer available but I felt it the sentiment suited my card.  The only other addition of course is ‘bling’.

Here is my card:

The colours go so well together and I am have used this wonderful stamp set Array of Sunshine a few times recently and the song “A Little Ray of Sunshine” sung by Glenn Shorrock just keeps going around and around my head.  Hehe, just a random thought I had to share  :)

What a Beautiful Autumn Day..

Hi everyone,

It has been a beautiful day today and we have been at the Easter Show.  It was glorious Autumn  weather, we checked out all the animals at the show, wood chopping and Charlize’s best part.. the Show Bags !

Now on to the card that I want to share a card with you.  The colours are from the colour challenge at  Come and Get It Color Challenge – Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze and Perfect Plum.

The sketch layout is from Mojo Monday Blog and it looked really simple but my goodness I changed my mind on how use the colours with the sketch and the stamp sets I was going to use many times.

I finally decided on Perfect Plum for the base of the card and added some the Pear Pizzazz 1/2” (1.3 cm) Stitched-Poly Ribbon.

The stamped flower is from the Array of Sunshine (Hostess set) and for the first layer I stamped it in Baja Breeze and rocked the stamp around on the edge of the Perfect Plum inkpad.  I then stamped out two more flowers in Baja Breeze and Perfect Plum, cut them out and layered it all together with some dimensionals.

The Perfect Plum layer has been embossed with the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and at the last minute I added a bright shiny Rhinestone, of course :)

The sentiment is from the Word Play stamp set and has been stamped in Perfect Plum.

Here is my card….

Clean and Simple Hello…

Hi everyone,

Do you wind creating clean and simple cards a challenge – I do so I am challenging myself to create more of them.

In this post I want to share with you a card I have created with clean and simple style in mind.

I found the current challenge at Simply Less is More, which is to create a card with three different greens.

I have created this card using cardstock of Always Artichoke with a layer of Whisper White.

I stamped the image from the My Friend Stamp set in Lucky Limeade and I have inked some of the Always Artichoke ink on the bottom of the imaged.  I stamped twice to get the shadow image.

The wonderful ‘hello’ image was stamped in Always Artichoke and the butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die are in Whisper White with a touch of Always Artichoke on the outside and a smaller Certainly Celery butterfly layered on top.

Yep and the cannot miss the added ‘bling’.

Here’s my card…

Who inspires you?

Hi everyone,

I have created a card and the sentiment is “You Inspire Me”.  What powerful words!

So who inspires you?  I think I am inspired by many people as I believe that you can be inspired in so many ways.

I will leave you with that thought and share with you my card I made.

The layout was inspired (there is that word again) by the sketch layout at Create with Connie and Mary and colour choice was found at Paper Pal Arts.

I have used Chocolate Chip for the base of my cards and I have made great use of the Big Shot.

I am in a butterfly mood once more and used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and Beautiful Butterflies Die.  The background of the Certainly Celery card stock  and on the large butterfly was created using the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder.

The sketch contained a curvy line so that is why my little butterflies are sort of in a curly line and some of the retired Very Vanilla Velvet Designer Ribbon has been attached to the main butterfly.

Here’s my card:

Hi everyone,

Hope your Easter was safe and wonderful.  We had a lovely time together and the Easter Bunny definitely found his way to our home!

I have a card to share with you and again I have used some of the new Attic Boutique DSP, hmm a definite favourite at the moment.

The base card is Poppy Parade and the flower is form the Array of Sunshine Hostess Stamp Set.

The flower has been stamped three times and cut out and layered with dimensionals.  I have added touch of Daffodil Delight ink with a dauber to the smallest layer.

There is ‘bling’ in the centre and the sentiment is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess Stamp Set.

Easter Treat

Hi everyone,

Things have been rather busy leading up to Easter and I haven’t had a chance to do any crafting.

But after browsing on the internet last night, I had a thought to create a little Easter Box for my daughter to take to school today and share some Easter eggs with her friends.

I have not ventured into creating anything with my punches I have just used them as punches but my searches let me to You Tube and I found a video that was linked by Dee - click here to see the video and the link to Dee’s website. Dee’ used her punches to create a little bunny.

Such a simple and creative Bunny but he needed a box to sit on and I found a video with a tutorial link on You Tube from SplitCoastStampers – click here to see.  The tutorial/video is for a Pillow Box Bucket and I got to use my Pillow Box die to create something else too.

Some of the punches I did not have so I used other punches or things in my stash to create the box and Bunny.

There are also Silver Brads on the side of the box for the handle and I use a strip of the new Attic Boutique DSP.

Now isn’t he cute!  But the eggs look good too don’t they, hmmmm all that chocolate :)
