Flutter by Wednesday Challenge

I have created this card for the sketch challenge at Flutter By Wednesday’s website.  You can visit their website if you click here.

The challenge is the sketch below and/or some green and of course a butterfly, fairy or angel.

I have used Pear Pizzazz as the base for my card, this is my green and below is my take of the sketch.

IMG_1507_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Friends Never Fade

Card: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Real Red

Accessories:  1/2” (1.3 cm) Pear Pizzazz Stitched-Poly Ribbon, 3/8” (1 cm) Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Greenhouse Gala DSP, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die,  Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I love butterflies so this challenge was very appealing and I also adore the Greenhouse Gala DSP.

I have used the Greenhouse Gala DSP lots recently and it goes so well in this sketch. The pumpkin pie in the flowers just adds that touch of life to the card.

Unfortunately the picture does not do the card justice as it looks a lot brighter in the real life.

I like the card and the sketch - Let me know what you think.

Until next time…… Meg x

Friend to Friend Sketch

Hi everyone,

Last week I ran out of time to link my card to the Card Patterns Sketch # 106 challenge before it closed but I am still going to post the sketch and my card for you to see.

The sketch is below and you can visit the Card Patterns site if you click on the image.

For my card I used the lovely and bright Greenhouse Gala DSP and the base card is in Real Red.  Real Red is such a bright warm colour – don’t you think?

The lovely bird image is from the Friends 24-7 stamp set.

Supplies:

Stamp set: Friends 24-7, Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Card: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz

Accessories:  Boho Blossoms Extra-Large, Word Window Punch, Greenhouse Gala DSP, Nestabilities , Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

This was a little challenging as I struggled to add something to the area where the flowers are.

I am not completely sold on the end result but maybe it will grow on me!

Take care….. Meg x

Friends Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 107

I am back again…. with a card I created for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge # 107.

You can see the sketch here or visit the Sweetest Thing Blog if you click here.

I must admit I struggled with this sketch a bit.  I had some ideas but they did not seem to work and the end result is different than I imaged.

But as you will know sometimes you just have to draw a line in the sand and go with the flow, after all we are our own worst critics.

I have used Chocolate Chip as the base card and the squares have been created from the Greenhouse Gala DSP.

I have also used a small amount of Hemp Twine and placed a small flower button from the Bitty Buttons in the Summer Mini Catalogue.

I have stamped the Friends saying and flower in Chocolate Chip and then again in Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight.  I cut the various part of the flower out and layered them.

I think I will create another card with this sketch to see what else I can come up with.

Until next time keep creating and keep smiling it’s the weekend!

I have used Soft Suede for the base of my card and the Baja Breeze print from the Greenhouse Gala DSP.

I like the card but I must admit I am still working on that perfect bow, but I will keep trying.

This DSP contains a number of colours: Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze.

Except for one card I have used the card stock colours from the DSP, except for one – Yes once more I have used Concord Crush, another favourite :)

Greenhouse Gala – Birthday Cards

I have created some birthday cards using the Greenhouse Gala DSP.  This DSP has really grown on me – the bright mixture of colours in the papers give such life to the cards.

I have used the new In-Color Concord Crush as the base card for two of the cards and it has
co-ordinated well with the Greenhouse Gala DSP.  This is not a colour I thought I would use that much but I have had to purchase a new A4 pack recently!

To colour the butterfly I inked the stamp in Pumpkin Pie and then rolled the outside in the Concord Crush.

IMG_1361_edited-1

Below are the two cards that I made that used Concord Crush cardstock as the base.

Greenhouse Gala Trio

When I looked at the Greenhouse Gala DSP, I was not real sure I should purchase it as it seems very bright and not normally my style but it has provide a new challenge and the colours have grown on me.

The Greenhouse Gala DSP can be found on page 125 of the current catalogue and this DSP contains the following colours: Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Baja Breeze.

Some of the colours found in the DSP provide me with inspirations for the following three cards.

Greenhouse Gala trio

The first card I create used a large sample of the DSP and a some of the lovely pumpkin pie cardstock.  This card should make any friend feel bright :)

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Friends Never Fade
Card: Basic Grey, Whisper White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz
Accessories:  Greenhouse Gala DSP, Scallop Edge Border Punch,  Dimensionals, Basic Grey Taffeta Ribbon (Retired), SNAIL Adhesive

You know how sometimes things just fall together, well this is what basically happened with this card.

I punched out some circles from DSP paper and placed them on the card and the result is below.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Friends Never Fade, Vintage Labels
Card: Basic Grey, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight

1-3/8” (3.5 cm) Circle Large Punch,
1-1/4” (3.2 cm) Circle Large Punch

It was late at night when I finished the last card and I wondered what effect I would get if I cut the DSP and sort of layered it with a little space in between.

I also stamped and cut out  flowers from the Friends Never Fade set (on page 71 of the current catalogue) and added a touch of Dazzling Diamonds in the centre of each flower.

I like the end result - another bright happy card to give someone.

Welcome to our Stampers Anonymous SU blog tour! Tonight we are delighted to show you projects using products that were available to us in our demo sneak peek from the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue.

You may have just come from Marelle Taylor’s blog, but if you are starting here, don’t worry … you can make the complete tour just by following the links at the end of each post. There are 14 stops along the way and we hope you will visit each one to see the wonderful creations we have to show you! Please feel free to leave some comment love along the way …

At the end of each post there will be a link to take you to the next stop on the tour.

So grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy!

The new catalogue has some great sets and bold Designer Series Papers.

For this Blog Hop I have used the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper and I really love the colour combination.

The paper uses the new colours Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight with some old favourites including Chocolate Chip, Real Read, Pumpkin Pie and Baja Breeze.

It has been sometime since I have used Pumpkin Pie and I found it goes really well with the  Chocolate Chip, maybe that will be my next challenge to create some more cards using Pumpkin Pie.

But for now I have created a small tote bag with some co-coordinating cards.  I put off creating 3-D projects as I think it may take too long but I was really surprised how quick this bag was to create and how much fun I had creating it.  So if you have been putting off creating a 3-D project – I would suggest you just give it a go.

This little bag  could hold 4 cards with envelopes and is a great gift idea.

I have used the quote “Thank You for your Kindness” from the Occasional Quotes Hostess set and layered it on two punched Pumpkin Pie Scallop Oval pieces.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Friends Never Fade, Occasional Quotes (Hostess)
Card: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Scallop Oval Extra-Large, 1 -3/4” x 7/8” Oval Large and Scallop Edge Border Punches, Stampin’ Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive, Sticky Strip, Greenhouse Gala DSP

The Greenhouse Gala DSP was used on both the cards and the bag.  The new stamp set Friends Never Fade co-ordinates well with this paper.

Both cards were quick to make and I really love the saying from the Friends Never Fade stamp set which reads -  “Friends are Flowers that Never Fade” -  How true is that!

Supplies:

Card: Chocolate Chip,  Certainly Celery, Whisper White

This was not how I was going to layer this card, I had planned to use just a touch of Pumpkin Pie card stock but I like the bright cheery end result of the card.
