Hello Blossoms Sketch

Hi Everyone,

Time has been on short supply this week :)      so I have not had a lot of time to create very much.

But I should get back into the swing of things over the weekend.

Although I had a chance to create a new card using the Hello Blossoms stamp set for the Card Patterns Sketch #112 challenge and the ColorQ colour challenge.

Both are below and you can visit the sites if you click the images:

I have twisted the sketch and changed it a little as this stamp set has the sentiment in the flowers.

I also stamped the image twice, the first one was on Whisper White cardstock in Kiwi Kiss ink and the second on Whisper White cardstock with Baja Breeze ink.

Both pieces of  the Whisper White cardstock were the same size prior to being stamped on so I cut them down the middle and then matched the images up to get the two tone effect.

Card: Always Artichoke, Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Whisper White

Accessories:  5/8” (1.6 cm) Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired), Mat Pack for Paper-Piercing, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

This was a quick card to make with this great sketch layout.

Happiness

Hi everyone,

It’s Anzac Day today and a day were Australians and New Zealander’s remember all our fallen soldiers.  It is the anniversary of the first major military action which was fought by Australian and New Zealand forces in the First World War.

My card below has just one word on it.… happiness.

The sketch for this card is from Sketch Frenzy Friday and the colours from ColorLab’s current colour challenge:

Friends

Hi everyone,

It has been an interesting week, I have been in Melbourne and on the return trip unfortunately we were delayed about 2.5 hours getting back to Sydney on Tuesday night.  As there had been a Security issue in Sydney earlier in the day.

At one stage we were told that we would not get back to Sydney before curfew (that’s 11 pm) but we did get back with about 15 minutes to spare.

So many people were inconvenienced and some have only just been reallocated flights, so I cannot complain too much.

With the late return on Tuesday night and trying to squeeze in 5 days of work into two on Wednesday and Thursday, I have not had a much time or energy to do any crafting.

But this evening (Good Friday), I have managed to create a quick card for the following challenges:

Card Patterns Sketch 111

and Flutter by Wednesday open challenge and with this challenges there is always a need for a butterfly but for me that is not hard :)

and Just Add Ink – Mateship/Friendship for Anzac Day challenge

My card has some of the wonderful Elegant Soiree DSP and I taken the colour inspiration for my card from this paper which is Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Basic Grey.

IMG_1560_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Great Friend, Hello Again

Card: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake,
Ink: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze

Accessories:  Lots of Tags Sizzlits 4-Pack Dies, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I have used Soft Suede for the base of my card and the friendship sentiment from the Great Friend stamp set.

I had forgotten about the Lots of Tags 4-Pack Dies which go through the Big Shot and make a quick label for any card or creative project, so I am happy to have used it in this card.

Let me know what you think by leaving a comment and don’t leave it too long before your next visit.

Have a great Easter!  Meg x

Free like a Butterfly…

Hi everyone,

How are you going?  I am well and happy that I can share another card with you.

Today I have created a card for two challenges:

  2. then a sketch layout from Clean & Simple # 135!

Both challenges are below for you to see and you can visit the sites if you click on the images.

I must admit this colour challenge took a lot of thought, as the colours are bright colours.

In the end I  decided on using Real Read for the base of the card and with some Very Vanilla in the mix, I think the end result is quite good!

Hello Blossoms

Hi everyone,

Hope your weekend is going great….. :)

I have created a card based on the Colour Challenge from Picture Perfect Creations # 54 and the sketch layout from Sketch Saturday # 149.

Both inspirations are below:

I have used Melon Mambo as the base of my card and the new Hello Blossoms stamp set from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

I think my card is close to the sketch and the colours from the combo challenge look great together.  Of course I have added my favourite “bling” with some of the rhinestones.

IMG_1544_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Hello Blossoms

Card: Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo

Accessories:  5/8” (1.6 cm) Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Mat Pack for paper-piercing, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

Botanical Challenge

The new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue is available and it contains some great DSP and new

stamps.

If you haven’t received a copy of the catalogue yet, click here and I will send you one!

You can also see catalogue online and the link is on my blog.

I have created a card using the new DSP Botanical Gazette from the mini catalogue and combined it with sketch from Card Patterns Sketch # 109.

The Botanical Gazette DSP contains some great colours: Early Espresso, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Not Quiet Navy, Marina Mist and Old Olive.

So I have taken my colour inspiration from the paper and used Early Espresso for the base of my card.

IMG_1545_edited-1

I have also used the bird image from the Always stamp set and some of the great ribbons we have available in the main catalogue.

Supplies:

Stamp set: Always, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Always

Card: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler

Accessories:  3/8” (1 cm) Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, 5/8” (1.6 cm) Very Vanilla Stain Ribbon, Nestabilities, 1” (2.5 cm) Circle Medium Punch, Word Window Large Punch, Botanical Gazette DSP, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

The soft blue of the Marina Mist with the Cherry Cobbler on this paper, looks good.

This was a quick card to make with this sketch and I this new DSP is definitely a winner!

I think I need to get the Nature Walk stamp set that goes with this DSP and see what creations I can come up with!

Thanks for visiting once more, enjoy your weekend and see you again soon…. Meg x

Vintage Friends

Hi everyone,  how are things?  I’ve been a little busy the past few days so I have not had a chance to do as much creating as I would like.

Unfortunately this challenge had ended before I could add my card but it has still be a good little challenge to keep in mind when I was creating this card.

For the base of my card I have used Concord Crush – I really love this rich purple colour and some two different sheets of DSP from the Lap of Luxury DSP.

Miss You

The inspiration for the layout of my card for this post has been taken from the Diva Coffee Break Design Sketch Challenge # 221.

The Diva Coffee Break Design Sketch is below for your reference:

I have used Early Espresso for the base of my card and I some of the lovely Elegant Soiree DSP.

IMG_1529_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Punch Potpourri, Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Card: Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake

Accessories:  Full Heart Extra-Large Punch, Word Window Large Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, 5/8” (1.6 cm) Very Vanilla, Satin Ribbon, Elegant Soiree DSP, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

Even though the Early Espresso is very dark, the card is softened when you had the DSP and some Pink Pirouette cardstock.

What do you think?  I am very happy with the end result.

All the best…. Meg x

Flowers Everywhere

The card I have created uses the Clean and Simple Sketch # 134 and the colour challenge from Utah Divas International Challenge # 29.

The sketch and the colour challenges are below for your reference:

The colours used in the Utah Divas Challenge are: More Mustard, Rich Razzleberry, Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride – a real challenge don’t you think!

For the base of my card I used More Mustard and I also used some of the Rich Razzleberry

1-1/4” (3.2 cm) Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

IMG_1528_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Punch Potpourri, Flight of the Butterfly

Card: More Mustard, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride

Accessories:  Boho Blossoms Extra-Large Punch, Textured Impressions Square Lattice Embossing Folder, 1-1/4” (3.2 cm) Rich Razzleberry Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I was not sure how to incorporate all of the colours of the Utah Divas Colour Challenge. I used  the Flower image from the Punch Potpourri set and stamped the flowers in the same colour as the card stock.

I then punched out the flowers using the Boho Blossoms Extra-Large Punch, layered them and added some ‘bling’ with the Basic Rhinestones.

You cannot see it very well but the Crumb Cake layer has been embossed.

I am really happy with the end result.

Until next time…. keep well…. Meg x
