Who inspires you?

Hi everyone,

I have created a card and the sentiment is “You Inspire Me”.  What powerful words!

So who inspires you?  I think I am inspired by many people as I believe that you can be inspired in so many ways.

I will leave you with that thought and share with you my card I made.

The layout was inspired (there is that word again) by the sketch layout at Create with Connie and Mary and colour choice was found at Paper Pal Arts.

I have used Chocolate Chip for the base of my cards and I have made great use of the Big Shot.

I am in a butterfly mood once more and used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and Beautiful Butterflies Die.  The background of the Certainly Celery card stock  and on the large butterfly was created using the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder.

The sketch contained a curvy line so that is why my little butterflies are sort of in a curly line and some of the retired Very Vanilla Velvet Designer Ribbon has been attached to the main butterfly.

Here’s my card:

P1000038_edited

Supplies:

Stamp set: Perfect Words (Hostess)

Card: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip

Accessories:  Very Vanilla Velvet Designer Ribbon (Retired), Beautiful Butterflies Die, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, Modern Label Punch, Corner Punch, Pearls, Dimensionals,  SNAIL Adhesive

Now did you notice no ‘bling’, I have gone for pearls instead :)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Create with Connie & Mary – # 196 Sketch

Everyday Enchantment

Hi everyone,

I really love the Everyday Enchantment DSP which is available as part of Sale-a-bration.

So I have created a card with a sample of the DSP, images from the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set and a sample of the Everyday Enchantment Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon.

I am sure you now get the link with title of this posting :)

I would describe my card as having a spring feel, being soft flowing and it has been touched with my vintage attempt.  I am happy with it, have a look below:

IMG_2066_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Elementary Elegance Stamp Set

Card: Peach Parfait, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Peach Parfait

Accessories:  1/8” (3.2 mm) Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon, Beautiful Winds Embosslits Dies, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I have used a dauber and sponged some of the Peach Parfait ink on to the Peach Parfait cardstock after I sanded it back in a few different places.  I have also used the dauber with the Peach Parfait ink on the Very Vanilla card stock.

I am still hooked on the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Dies.  The larger butterfly is in Lucky Limeade card stock (even though the photo has it looking a little darker) and the small butterfly is in Very Vanilla cardstock.

Oh and don’t forget the added ‘bling’ in the corner and on the butterfly!  I added a little of the Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon to a dimensional at the back of the larger butterfly because I wanted it to seem like he was fluttering here and there :)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Hello Hello Hello

And Hello once more :)

All the greetings are because I used the ‘hello, hello, hello’ sentiment stamp from the Happy Greetings stamp set in the Summer Mini Catalogue.

The card base is Basic Gray which has been dry embossed using the Big Shot and the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This is a great folder and just adds that little bit to the background.

The colours are from the colour challenge at The Play Date Cafe – Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Whisper White as the neutral.

The layout is from the sketch at Create with Connie & Mary which you can see here.  I have flipped the sketch around and used the wonderful Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die to create the butterflies.  This Die is one of my favourites at the moment (of course don’t forget the ‘bling’) as I love how the butterflies are embossed and cut at the same time when the folder goes through the Big Shot.

IMG_2055_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Happy Greetings

Card: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black

Accessories:  1-3/4” (4.4 cm) Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8” (3.5 cm) Circle Punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

There is normally some bling on my cards – so you will not be surprised to see it on the little butterfly.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

For Mum

Hi everyone,

This card is for my Mum.

I used the one of the sentiments from the Blessed Mother stamp set, I like both sentiments but this one I think suited the card.

I used Marina Mist for the base of the card and a sample of the paper from Beau Chateau DSP.  My Mum loves the sort of look of this DSP with its soft colours.

I used the Two Tags Die and cut out one of the tags in Crumb Cake and the other in Very Vanilla.  The ribbon is the Very Vanilla Velvet Designer Ribbon, which is available in the current Summer Mini.  It is feels so lovely!

Of course there is ‘bling’ as I added some Rhinestones and the light swirl is from the Creative Elements stamp set.

IMG_1993_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Blessed Mother, Creative Elements
Ink: Marina Mist

Card Stock: Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla

Birthday Wishes…

My weekend just flew by, there was so much squeezed in that at the end of the day on Saturday I could not believe how much had been done.

Friday night we had our fortnightly stamping get together and I took my limited supplies, a layout out and the stamp sets as I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but you know sometimes it just does not come together.

So I tried again.

I was trying to use the sketch layout from Clean and Simple Sketches with the Colour Challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.

   2012 Create Challenges-005

I have seen so much done with the Blossom Party Die but have not had a chance to use it yet.

In the end that was what I need to make everything come together to create my card.

I used Concord Crush for the base card and layered the die cut the flowers.

 IMG_1925_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Happiest Birthday Wishes (Hostess set)

Card: Concord Crush, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Ink: Concord Crush

Accessories:  Blossom Party Die, Circle Ice Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

If you have read some of my older posts you will know that I love ‘bling’, so I have used a lilac colour Rhinestone Brad from the Circle Ice set for the centre of the flowers.  You can just see the touch of colour in the Rhinestones in the photo.

I struggle sometimes to make a clean and simple card so I am happy with the result plus it did not take long to make.

This card has been linked to the following challenges found at:

Thanks for stopping by once more, come back soon….. Meg

How is your week going……

Well its Tuesday evening and my little girl has settled back into school, so I am off to work again tomorrow after a few days break.

I have been busy doing some tidy up in between school drop off and pick up – you know time flies from the time you drop children off and until you pick them up again!

But I have been playing with a few challenges and I have used Concord Crush, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Whisper White to create some cards.

These are the colours that I matched to The Play Date Cafe colour challenge and the colours are all In-Colors.

I have also used the sketch from Create With Connie and Mary for the card layout.

2012 Create Challenges-004

I used the lovely verse from the Just Believe stamp set and I also got to use the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the Lucky Limeade cardstock.  I have been wanting to use this embossing folder for sometime now but not had the right inspiration.

IMG_1894_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Just Believe

Card: Concord Crush, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Ink: Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz

Accessories:  Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, 3/16” Corner Punch, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, 3/8” (1  cm) Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

Unfortunately the picture has not captured the embossing very well and my ‘bling’ or Rhinestones look like silver brads!

I finished the above card and then made another card with the same layout, same colours (except the Island Indigo) and used the lovely but forgotten Creative Elements stamp set.

IMG_1890_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Just Believe, Creative Elements

Card: Concord Crush, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Ink: Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz

Accessories:  3/16” Corner Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I used the Rock n’ Roll Technique with (Pear Pizzazz & Concord Crush ink) on the flower image  and stamped the swirl image with Pear Pizzazz.  Don’t ask me why I used the Pear Pizzazz instead of the Lucky Limeade ink pad as I couldn’t tell you but it still looks ok and I think it has come out darker than the Lucky Limeade would have.

Again I have used a little ‘bling’ – one of my favourites Rhinestones but again they look like brads!

I have also linked this post to the challenges found at:

Moving Along With The Times Challenge – # 133 Blooming Marvellous

Truly Scrumptious Challenge – #72 Something Forgotten

Everybody-Art-Challenge - #177 Swirls

My Time To Craft Challenge - #171 Your Favourite Embellishment

Lollipop Crafts - #65 Anything Goes

Wow, two cards at the one time I am impressed with myself :)

Hopefully when I catch up with some friends on Friday night I will be able to do this again but I will not hold my breathe on that one, as we normally do more talking then stamping!

Thanks for visiting once more, see you next time….. Meg

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone,

I have created a birthday card using the colour challenge from Create with Connie and Mary and the sketch layout from Sketch Frenzy Friday.

Both challenges can be seen below:

Color Coach-004

I have used Riding Hood Red for the base of my card and I have used the lovely butterfly from the Strength and Hope set.

I have flipped the sketch and replaced the bow with the butterfly.

IMG_1806_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Strength & Hope, Perfect Punches, Just Believe

Card: Peach Parfait, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla
Ink: Peach Parfait, Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze

Accessories:  1-3/8” (3.5 cm) Circle Large Punch, 2” x 1-3/8” (5 x 3.5 cm) Oval Extra Large Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, 3/16” (0.5 cm) Corner Small Punch, 3/8” (1 cm) Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I found the colours to put together a little challenging – LOL,  but I am pretty happy with the end result.

What do you think?  Keep creating…… Meg x

Cherish

Hi everyone,

It’s the middle of the week and I don’t know about you but things are so busy.

But as you will appreciated, we always need a bit of my time and with my time tonight after finishing some chores, I have created a new card to share with you and the card uses two challenges.

The first is the current colour challenge # 148 from Create with Connie & Mary and the other challenge is the sketch challenge # 137 from the Clean & Simple site.

Color Coach-002

The colours from the colour challenge are wonderful, they have co-ordinated so well.

For the sketch I have used the lovely swirls image from the Baroque Motifs set for the main part of the card.  I had forgotten how much I love this stamp set !

IMG_1587_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Baroque Motifs

Card: Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum

Accessories:  Eyelet Border Punch, Antique Brads, Basic Rhinestones, SNAIL Adhesive

I have added one of the Antique Brads to the card and I have used the Eyelet Border Punch to add a little bit more to the side of the card.

What do you think?  I really like the end results and the colours look so good !

Leave me a comment if you get a chance and please visit again soon……. Meg x

I have created the card below using the Create with Connie & Mary sketch challenge # 147 and the colour challenge from Utah Divas International.

Both challenges are below for your to see and visit:

Create Sketches Square-010

I have used the Sense of Time stamp set which I do not use often and I have used Basic Black for

the base of my card.

IMG_1568_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Sense of Time

Card: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Grey, Basic Black

…… what a true words.

How often do we run around and forget to slow down and appreciate the small things that mean so much.

I hope you have time over the next few days to get a chance to slow down, relax and get a chance to enjoy some of the small things around you and your family.

Take care….. Meg x

Free like a Butterfly…

Hi everyone,

How are you going?  I am well and happy that I can share another card with you.

Today I have created a card for two challenges:

  1. a colour challenge from Create with Connie & Mary # CCMC146 and
  2. then a sketch layout from Clean & Simple # 135!

Both challenges are below for you to see and you can visit the sites if you click on the images.

I must admit this colour challenge took a lot of thought, as the colours are bright colours.

In the end I  decided on using Real Read for the base of the card and with some Very Vanilla in the mix, I think the end result is quite good!

IMG_1556_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: All a Flutter, Sense of Time

Card: Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Very Vanilla
Ink: Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie

Accessories:  Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Nestabilities, 3/16” (0.5 cm) Corner Small Punch,  Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I love this butterfly image from the All a Flutter stamp set – this is a single image that can be purchased out of the current catalogue.

Please leave me a comment if you get a chance but remember to spend a little time creating !!!

Until next time….. Meg x

Pocket Friend

Hi everyone,

How is your week going?  Can you believe that Easter is nearly here and April will be gone before we know it.

What do they say - ‘Time flies when you are having fun!’ and I have been having fun creating a card for the colour challenge from Colorlab Challenge # 36 and the sketch layout from Create with Connie and Mary # 145.

Here are the images from the challenges and if you click on the images you will be taken to the respective site:

ColorChallenge36

I have used Early Espresso for the base of my card and I have also used the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

IMG_1555_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Pocket Silhouettes

Card: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade

Accessories:  3/8” (1 cm) Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, 1/8” (3.2 mm) Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

I really love the colour combo, it goes so well together and the sketch is simple and quick.

I just love the embossing folders they make such a quick background to any creation.

Let me know what you think and leave me a message.

Keep creating….. Meg x

Every Moment Sketch Challenge

On Saturday I attended the Stampin’ Up Regional Seminar in Sydney.

During the day there was training, make and takes as well as some wonderful presentations from other demonstrators and Head Office Staff.

One of the presentations was on Water Colouring and Masking.

I had forgotten how much I enjoy water colouring, so I came home last night and used the Every Moment Stamp Set and did some water colouring.

I created a card for the sketch challenge which has been displayed on a site called ‘Create with Connie and Mary’.

The sketch challenge is number CCMC 125 and you can view the sketch by clicking here.

As I am water colouring I have stamp my image with StazOn and then I have picked the colour up from the ink pads with my Aqua Painter.

The sketch layout has been created in a Portrait layout but I have created my card in a landscape layout.  The card uses two of the new In Colours ink pads – Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait.

This sketch is very versatile and I will definitely use it again.
