Create a Background

Hi everyone,

Thanks for visiting.

Just a quick post to share with you my card for our new challenge at Come and Get It this week.

Our challenge theme is:

Make Your Own Background

we have two fabulous sponsors, Sweet Pea Stamps & Aurora Wings.

For my background I swipped Crumb Cake, Hello Honey and Island Indigo ink pads across a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

I wanted to create a water sort of background as the image I have used is from Aurora Wings and is called The Secret Best Friends, which is two little mermaids.

The image was coloured in with  Copic Markers and has bee die cut with an Oval die from the SU Ovals Collection.

The image  has been placed on a Twisted Easel Layout Card.

I have used two Marianne Dies LR0327 & LR0280.  The chipboard is from Scrap Matts CB1226 Marine Life & CB1221 Nautical Designs.

The reed chipboard pieces were coloured using the Distress Inks Faded Jeans & Brushed Cordurey.

The little sea shells were coloured lightly with a dauber and Island Indigo ink,

Here is my card:

The reeds behind the image were stamped with the a stamp from the retired Inspired Nature set in Sahara Sand ink.

The sentiment is from the Six Sided Sampler stamp set in Island Ink and punched out using the Word Window punch.

Here is a close up of the image:

The copic markers used were:

Skin: E0000, 000, 00, 11. R21
Background: C00, 0, BG10
Mermaids: BG57, 53, 10, 000, 000, YR000, 00, 24, 23, 20
Hair: E33, 34, 50, 37, 40, 42, 43

I just adore this image.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
