It’s Black & White with a Splash of Green

Hi everyone,

How was your weekend?  Hope your week is off to a good start!

I did go to the movies with my Mum and saw “Water for Elephants” – it was a very good movie but I the circus master was a very cruel man!

I know that they say that the book in normally better than the movie but for this movie I do not believe I could read the book.  I must say the elephant in the movie was beautiful – as beautiful an elephant can be !

On to crafty things and I have a card to share with you.

The colours have been inspired by the challenge at The Play Date Cafe – It’s Black and White with a touch of Green.

The sketch layout was from Sketch Frenzy Friday – this sketch has closed but I liked the simplicity of it:

I have used Basic Black for the base of the card and I have embossed the Whisper White in the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines embossing folder.

Card: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz

Cottage Friend

Hi everyone – how are you going for Thursday?  I am well, feeling great and looking forward to the weekend.

We have our fortnightly girly get together this Friday where we probably do more talking then crafting but it is a great way to wind down and catch up.

Also I am going to the movies with Mum this weekend to see ‘Water for Elephants’ – a girly flick  and we will catch up with Dad for dinner after the movies.

So speaking of girly things, I have created a card that fits into three current challenges:

The first is the very Girly Challenge from the Friday Mashup Challenge - Ribbons, Pearls and all things Girls – what a beautiful little girl!

The second challenge is from SUO challenges – Flowers for May.  You can visit this site to see this challenge if you click here.

The last challenge is from Paper Players and is a Sketch Challenge # 48:

I have used a colour combo of Melon Mambo, Basic Grey and Old Olive with Very Vanilla, as well as the lovely Vintage Vogue stamp set.

I cannot believe a few months ago I was struggling to think of ways to use this set!  I have used this lovely set so many times lately.

For that extra touch I used some of the Chantilly 1/2” Crochet Trim.

I think the sketch challenge really suited the girly theme.

Finally another post & challenge

Hi everyone,

I haven’t had a chance to send a post for a while as I have been to the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Melbourne and it was GREAT!

Had a wonderful time, met so many crafty people, exchanged ideas and it was so worth travelling to Melbourne and experiencing the cold and wet but I must say I also got to see my Sister and her family which was an added bonus :)

As you know, you then come back home you get back into routines work, school, life in general but along the way unfortunately pick up a cold.

So I was not feeling the best over the weekend but I am much better now and back on board.

Now on to my card creation…..

I have used the colour challenge from Just Add Ink and the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary:

Summer11Challenges-003

I have used Baja Breeze for the base of my card and I have created a card for Child’s Birthday.  It is my youngest niece’s birthday next month so I think I will give this card to her.

I have used the Fox & Friends, Party This Way & On Your Birthday stamp sets as well as some of the texture embossing folders in the Big Shot.

Supplies:

Stamp set: Fox & Friends, Party This Way, On Your Birthday

Card: Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Ink: Certainly Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum

Accessories:  Textured Square Lattice & Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folders, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Word Window Punch, 1” (2.5 cm) Circle Medium Punch, 1-3/8” (3.5 cm) Circle Large Punch, 3/8” (1 cm) Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, 1/2” (1.3 cm) Pear Pizzazz Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Mat Pack for Paper Piercing, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

This was an unusual sketch but this is why you call them challenges!

In the end I think both the sketch and the colours have worked well together and I am sure my niece will enjoy this card for her 4th Birthday.

Until next time…. Meg x

Thank You

Hi everyone,

Another week gone and the weekend is here and I have another card to share with you.

The colours are from the Scrapmaster’s Paradise Color Combo # 98 challenge – visit Scrapmaster’s Paradise by clicking on the image.

The other inspiration is from the Paper Players Challenge # 45 - Birds, Bees, Flowers and/or Trees # 45.

I have also used Paper Players sketch from last week as inspiration for the card and you can visit Paper Players by clicking on the image.

The base of my card is Chocolate Chip cardstock and the Tempting Turquoise cardstock has been embossed in the Big Shot with the new Framed Tulips Textured Impressions folder.

The Chantilly Crochet Trim has been layered on the Chocolate Chip Scallop Trim Border Punched cardstock.

Cherish

Hi everyone,

It’s the middle of the week and I don’t know about you but things are so busy.

But as you will appreciated, we always need a bit of my time and with my time tonight after finishing some chores, I have created a new card to share with you and the card uses two challenges.

The first is the current colour challenge # 148 from Create with Connie & Mary and the other challenge is the sketch challenge # 137 from the Clean & Simple site.

Color Coach-002

The colours from the colour challenge are wonderful, they have co-ordinated so well.

For the sketch I have used the lovely swirls image from the Baroque Motifs set for the main part of the card.  I had forgotten how much I love this stamp set !

Supplies:

Stamp set: Baroque Motifs

Card: Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum

Accessories:  Eyelet Border Punch, Antique Brads, Basic Rhinestones, SNAIL Adhesive

I have added one of the Antique Brads to the card and I have used the Eyelet Border Punch to add a little bit more to the side of the card.

What do you think?  I really like the end results and the colours look so good !

Upsy Daisy Challenge

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post to share with you a card I have created for the Diva Coffee Break Design Sketch Challenge # 225 & the colour challenge # 39 from ColorLab.

Here are the challenges below and you can view the sites if you click on these images.

ColorChallenge39

The base card is Pumpkin Pie and I have used Very Vanilla as the neutral card stock.

I have also rotated the sketch and my card and use the Upsy Daisy stamp set.

IMG_1584_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Upsy Daisy

Card: Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry

Accessories:  3/8” (1 cm) Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Mat Pack for Paper-Piercing, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

Unfortunately I did not have enough room for the sentiment on the front of the card but I will add that on the insert inside the card.

A quick card, I like it – if you want to let me know what you think, please leave me a comment.

Until next time….. Meg x
