Faux Technique

Over at Come and Get It I have chosen the challenge this week which is to use Any Faux Technique

If you have not used this Technique at all there are so many different styles to choose from that if you are like me it is a matter of which one?  I finally decided on the Faux Patina Technique which is much easier than you think to do.

What I did was picked an embossing folder and wiped the Crumb Cake ink pad over the flat side of the folder and then ran a piece of Very Vanilla card stock through the Big Shot – you could also use Whisper White.

I then sponged Marina Mist ink on the raised areas and then sponged Always Artichoke ink of the same area again.

Once the sponging had dried a little I daubed some Versamark on the raised area and then sprinkled some gold embossing powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

I then layered it on some Early Espresso Cardstock and added some layered butterflies with a scrap of the Faux Patina cardstock.  The butterflies were cut and embossed using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.  This little die would have to be my best purchase, I love it.

The stamp set is called Million & One and is a lovely sentiment stamp set which has a lovely the writing style and this was stamped in Always Artichoke.

Here is my card:
